You're questions doesn't really make sense. Displays adapt to the video; not the other way around.
However if you wan't the file size to be smaller so that it won't take up as much room on like an iPod or something like that you would need to convert the video format.
To convert the video format you'll need a program. I reccomend Download.com for such programs.
