How to change display name, message and display picture on Windows live messenger?

How to change display name, message and display picture on Windows live messenger because every time i change mine, and log out, it changes back to what it previously was. I have unchecked the box that says: Use the same display picture and personal message wherever i sign in. Please reply asap if you have any ideas what i can do.How to change display name, message and display picture on Windows live messenger?
check the box again, it seems like at the moment its going back to the last thing you set as the *everywhere you log on* thing. then it should stay as you want it. It will also mean say you go to a friends house it will be the same.

It's very basic once you get used to it.

Ok when you sign into windows live messenger and it loads up the page which includes all your contacts on the top of that page there is a grey bar that says:

file,contacts,actions,tools and help.

Click tools and then click on options.

A box will appear saying type your name as you want to see it.

When you type your name in the box go down to the ok button.

Your display will then appear as you want it.



To do your messenger picture.

Enter a instant chat.(Where you talk to someone). When you enter a chat a arrow will appear by your current avatar. The arrow will be in a small grey box pointing downwards. click the arrow and then click show all. When all your current avatars appear click browse will is located above the remove button.

Then you are able to add a picture. Once you add the picture. Scroll through all the pictures which are already on until you find the desired one and press ok.
