How do i change the display on my laptop?

I just got my first laptop.. and when i look at pictures they have a slight greenish tinge. Im not sure how to fix this, it's making everything look a little weird.

It's a Dell Inspiron and running on windows XP.

Does anyone know how to fix this?How do i change the display on my laptop?
I'll quote this from how I set the brightness on my Dell Inspiron 2500. I believe that this is a standard procedure with all Dell laptops so (hopefully) it should work for you.

It also assumes that you are running Windows on your laptop.

= Click on the ';Start'; button and select ';Settings'; and then ';Control Panel';

= The Control Panel window opens. From that, click on ';Intel(R) Graphics Technology';

= This opens a little window labelled ';Intel graphics controller properties';

= Along the top of that window is a set of tabs. Click on the tab labelled ';Colour';

= The window should now show your desktop/screen colour properties. There should be a slider labelled ';Brightness'; there. You can use that to set how bright (or dark) your screen is.How do i change the display on my laptop?
trying changing resolutions. right click on desktop to do that. or visit Control Panel.

alternatively your LCD might have pixel defects. If under warranty, get a check online over the phone with Dell.
when you are on your home screen right click on the mouse and go on properties and go on home screen and change your display
Dells online help is very good.

you could also search your keypad for a combination of function 'fn' key and 'light' key on top line of key pad.

Normally this works for all laptops.

On the right hand bottom corner there will be an icon for display or graphics.
