How Do I change my display resoloution to 1024 x 720?

I have the SAMSUNG NC10 Windows XP

and i have just installed Microsoft Flight Simulator X

and it says when i click on it ...

Flight Simulator requries a minimum dusplay resoloution of 1024 x 720.

You're screwed. That little mini cannot get to that resolution, so you will be unable to play the game on that laptop,
Right click anywhere on your desktop

Click properties

Click settings Move the slider

Change the screen resolution to 1024 x 768
